Shopify Flow is an e-commerce automation solution that was purpose-built to help solve the unique challenges that Shopify merchants face. With Flow, you can build workflows to automate tasks, campaigns, and processes within your store and across your apps. These automations give you the power to build the custom solutions that your business needs. Integrate REVIEWS.IO with your current Shopify workflow to allow the creation of custom actions when a new review is created.

Requirements

⭐️ Active REVIEWS.IO account

✅ This app is only available to customers on Advanced and Shopify Plus.

Navigation 📍

  • Log into your REVIEWS.IO dashboard

  • Head to Integrations >> Shopify

  • You can then click on 'Shopify Flows' from the integration page

Instructions ⚙️

1. Once you have added the REVIEWS.IO app to your Shopify store, you will also need to install the Shopify Flow app. This can be installed via the Shopify App Store.

2. You will now need to create a new workflow.

Navigate to Apps, then from the list, click Shopify Flow. You will be sent to the app page, where you can view your current workflows or click Create Workflow to create a new one.

3. Within this workflow page, you will be able to create triggers & actions.

Triggers can be set up to fire when a specific event has taken place, for example, when a new product review is written.

You can see all our REVIEWS.IO Shopify triggers in the workflow sidebar.

Once a trigger has been fulfilled an action will then be carried out in response. Actions may include sending an email or performing a task within an integrated 3rd party app.

The Shopify Flow actions include -

  • Deactivate REVIEWS.IO invitations; used to pause invites, eg if an order is cancelled

  • Unsubscribe from REVIEWS.IO invitations - used if the customer doesn't opt into marketing

  • Queue REVIEWS.IO invitations - tries to queue both company and product, using your active Flow (if you have a live sequence)

  • Queue REVIEWS.IO company invitation

  • Queue REVIEWS.IO product invitation

Example Shopify Workflows -

Example: International customers receiving their review invitation prior to receiving goods, creates negative feedback.

Answer: Tag international orders in Shopify based on delivery status or location and set up different review templates based on these triggers.

Example: Customer doesn’t want review requests to be sent to wholesale customers.

Answer: Wholesale orders are tagged and added to REVIEWS.IO unsubscribe list.

Example: If a user unsubscribes from your Shopify emails and you would like them unsubscribed from REVIEWS.IO as well.

Answer: Build a flow and add an action that automatically adds customers to our unsubscribe list.

REVIEWS.IO have created some pre-built flows to use within Shopify flow. These can be downloaded below:

Importing Shopify Workflows

  1. From the Workflows page in Flow, click Import workflow.

  2. Click the Add .flow file button to add a file, or drag a .flow file from your desktop to the Import workflow box.

  3. Click Upload.

  4. Review the workflow details and click Import.

  5. Click the workflow to open its Workflow details page and then click Edit workflow. Make sure that your workflow isn't missing any details, such as a condition or an action.

  6. When you're satisfied with your changes, enable the workflow.

Monitoring Flows

Once you have your flows up and running, you can then look to monitor them and assess their performance. This can be done directly from the workflows page.

This page displays a Workflow summary, where you can review its triggers, conditions, and actions, in addition to a Workflow runs section, which can be used to filter these if you were looking to analyse a single area more closely.

To get to this page, you would need to follow the steps listed below:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps >> Shopify Flow.

  2. Click the workflow that you want to monitor.

  3. If you've recorded the ID of a specific workflow run to review later, then enter it in the Filter runs field.

  4. To filter for a specific date range, click Date.

  5. Choose your starting date, then scroll down to select an end date. Workflow data is retained for seven days so workflow runs older than seven days are not displayed.

  6. To filter for a specific workflow status, click Status. You can filter by:

  • Workflows that are in progress

  • Workflows that succeeded and took actions

  • Workflows that succeeded, but did not take actions

  • Workflows that failed

Note: There can be a delay between when a workflow runs and when its results appear in your Shopify admin.

You can also use a Shopify Workflow action as the trigger for your review invitations.

To set this trigger you will need to go into Integrations>> Shopify

Then scroll down to the Configure Invitation Trigger Section and choose API/Shopify Flow in the Invitation Trigger drop-down.

Note: If you do choose the Shopify Flow invitation trigger, this will stop invites being queued automatically through the Shopify app.
