This article will guide you through the process of setting up a Custom Product catalog.
If your business sells products, you can collect reviews using a custom product catalogue. You'll just need to have your products listed on your website.
The process involves creating a CSV or XML file containing your products, which is imported into the REVIEWS.io system in order to send review invitations about those products.
Here's how to get it set up 👇

Instructions ⚙️
Create your Product Feed File (CSV or XML file)
Go onto the platform you use to create files and make a product feed. You can name this however you like. We've called ours Reviews Product Feed.
Create the columns as follows:
Product Name | Product SKU | Product Image URL | Product Page URL | MPN | GTIN | Product Category | Product Group |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Product Name (How you want your product name to appear on Reviews.io)
Product ID / SKU (Your unique product identifier - each product should have a different one.)
Product Image URL (The location on the internet of the product image)
Product Page URL (The location on the internet of the product page)
MPN (Used for matching reviews in Google Merchant Center)
GTIN (Used for matching reviews in Google Merchant Center)
Brand (Used for matching reviews in Google Merchant Center)
Note: The file should have UTF-8 formatting.
Create a shareable link for your file in the platform
Once the file has been made and formatted, you will need to share it with us. We would generally recommend sending a CSV file but if you can't provide a .csv file, then we recommend trying with an XML file, as that can work too. You can then add that through a link from the platform you have used.
Adding the Product Feed
When you are ready to add your product feed to the REVIEWS.io dashboard, you will need to go to the Product Catalogue. Once there, you will need to head over to the button to "Setup Product Feed". ⬇️
When the feed is ready and you are in the "Setup Product Feed" area, you can add the link for your file and start downloading it to the dashboard. It is important to note that, this may take a few minutes, or potentially longer for very large files. If it hasn’t been downloaded within an hour, contact our Support team, and they will help you with this. Once downloading is finished, you can start configuring the file to pull in the products.
You can then match the data in the file in the configuration to ensure everything is pulled in correctly. The products will then be shown in the Product Catalogue.
FAQ
How do I know if the link will work?
How do I know if the link will work?
If you paste this new link in the browser, it should automatically download a .csv version of your file. If that's the case, then it is working. If not, you should check your work and try again.
