Introduction π
Flagging reviews as Incentivised is incredibly important to ensure that your customers understand the context about how a review has been collected. The 'Incentivised' tag is crucial not only for transparency but also for legal and ethical compliance. For example, while incentivising product reviews is allowed under certain conditions, offering incentives for company reviews is not permitted. This is also a change enforced by the UK Government
Any review that has been written in exchange for a reward is considered an incentive; this includes (but is not limited to):
Discount Codes on future orders
Free Products in exchange for a review
Loyalty Points
Entries into giveaways
If you are offering incentives in exchange for reviews this must be in exchange for all reviews. You cannot only offer an incentive in exchange for a positive review. This ensures compliance with ethical standards and transparent business practices, aligning with legal mandates surrounding review collection.
