This guide covers the most common issues with the REVIEWS.io Shopify integration and how to resolve them.
Products missing from your product feed
If products aren't appearing in your REVIEWS.io product catalogue, work through these checks:
Confirm your store is connected using the correct Shopify URL — go to Integrations → Shopify in your REVIEWS.io dashboard to verify.
Check that the missing products are published in Shopify. Only published products sync to REVIEWS.io.
Trigger a manual sync by clicking the Sync Shopify Products button in your REVIEWS.io dashboard. The feed syncs automatically every 24 hours, but a manual sync pulls the latest data immediately.
If products are still missing after a manual sync, contact support to request a full catalogue reset and resync.
⚠️ Before requesting a catalogue reset, let support know if you have product grouping enabled — you will need to export your product groups first, as a reset removes all products from the catalogue (reviews are not affected).
Reviews not matching products after SKU changes
Reviews in REVIEWS.io are matched to products by SKU or variant ID. If you rename a product, reorganise variants, or change SKUs, existing reviews will no longer match the new product records.
Check for unmatched SKUs at dash.reviews.io/products/unmatched-skus — this page lists all reviews that could not be matched to a product in your catalogue.
You can manually remap reviews to the correct product from the unmatched SKUs page.
If you are planning a store restructure or SKU migration, contact support before making changes so reviews can be remapped as part of the process.
Review invitations not sending
If invitations are not queuing after orders are placed, check your invitation trigger setting:
The Delivered trigger only works if your courier service marks orders as delivered directly within Shopify. If your courier does not update Shopify with delivery status, invitations will never queue.
Switch to the Fulfilled trigger — this is the recommended setting for most Shopify stores and fires when Shopify marks an order as fulfilled.
If invitations still aren't queuing after switching to Fulfilled, contact support.
Widgets not displaying on your storefront
Connecting your Shopify store to REVIEWS.io and displaying widgets on your storefront are two separate steps. If widgets aren't appearing, check the following:
Confirm your Shopify store is connected under Integrations → Shopify in your REVIEWS.io dashboard.
Widgets must be added to your theme separately — either as app blocks via the Shopify theme editor, or by adding the widget code directly to your theme templates.
If you recently switched or duplicated a Shopify theme, you will need to re-add widgets to the new theme. Widget installations do not carry over when themes are duplicated or changed.
If using app blocks, ensure the REVIEWS.io app embed is enabled in your Shopify theme editor under App embeds.
Connecting multiple Shopify stores
Plus plans: unlimited Shopify store connections, as long as they share the same domain or subdomain.
Plans below Plus: one Shopify store connection only. To connect an additional store, you will need to upgrade your plan.
Contact support if you need to switch your connected store to a different Shopify URL.
