Self-Serve Review Import (Judge.me, Yotpo & CSV)

Import your product review history directly from your Dashboard from Judge.me, Yotpo, or a custom CSV — no support ticket required.

Written by Mollie Herbert

📩 You can now import your product review history directly from your REVIEWS.io Dashboard - no need to raise a support ticket.

Requirements

⭐️ Available on Start-Up plans and above. Not available on Essentials or Shopify Free plans.

  • This self-serve wizard currently covers Product reviews only. Company review imports aren't supported here yet; however, if you click onto the Company review option within the import, you can send your company import file straight to our team via the live chat pop.

How to import your reviews

  1. In your REVIEWS.io Dashboard, head to Settings → Import Reviews (also on your onboarding checklist if you're a new REVIEWS.io customer).

  2. Choose your source: Judge.me, Yotpo, or a custom CSV.

  3. Upload your file: Judge.me and Yotpo exports are automatically column-matched - no manual setup needed.
For a custom CSV, you'll map your own columns (rating, review text, date, product identifier) in the wizard, and confirm the date format if it's ambiguous.

  4. Review the column mapping and confirm.

  5. Confirm and import: tick the box confirming your reviews are genuine and were collected from a verifiable platform.

  6. Your file processes in the background, so feel free to navigate away. You'll get an email with the results.

What you'll need, by source

  • Judge.me: A Product ID column if you have an active Shopify integration, or a SKU column if not.

  • Yotpo: A Product SKU on every row.

  • Custom CSV: manual column mapping in the wizard.

Order ID is optional across all sources - if it's missing, your review will still import but will be unverified. The Verified badge works the same way it always has: it requires an Order ID match.

Shop App syndication

If you have the Shop App installed, your import will wait for syndication to sync first, so imported reviews can be matched against your orders. If it isn't installed, you can enable it during the wizard, or continue without it - in which case reviews import as unverified.

What happens next

Once processed, you'll see one of: Submitted, Imported, Skipped, or Failed, along with a downloadable report and a summary email.

If your import shows "needs review": this isn't a rejection. It just means our automated checks (or import frequency) flagged it for a quick look from our team - you'll get an email update, typically within 24–48 hours.

Troubleshooting

My file was rejected.
The most common cause is an altered export - re-saved in Excel, columns renamed, etc. Re-download your file directly from the source platform and upload it without opening or editing it first.

Some of my reviews are missing.
They may have been skipped as exact duplicates - check your outcome report. Only exact matches (same email, product, and review text) are caught automatically, so a near-duplicate may still need manual review.

My import seems stuck.
Very large files (roughly 15,000+ rows) can occasionally stall. Try again, and if it keeps happening on the same file, contact us via Live Chat.

Can I import company reviews or Q&A this way?
Not yet - self-serve currently covers product reviews only. Please use our existing import process for Company Reviews and Q&A.

I'm on the Essentials plan - can I import?
Imports aren't available on Essentials at all, for either the self-serve or manual process.

Good to know

  • File size limit: 100MB. There's no strict row cap, but files above roughly 15,000 rows are more likely to stall.

  • Duplicate detection only catches exact matches - always worth a quick scan of your import report.
