Business types not accepted on REVIEWS.io

Which business categories cannot be approved for a REVIEWS.io account, why they are restricted, and what to do if your account activation was denied.

Written by Leila Fatehi

REVIEWS.io verifies every new business before activating an account. Most businesses are approved automatically, but certain categories are not accepted because they conflict with our platform policies or carry a high risk of fake or incentivised reviews.

Business types we do not accept

The following categories will not be approved for a REVIEWS.io account:

  • These restrictions are a permanent part of our platform policy and apply to both new sign-ups and existing accounts. The following business types are not accepted:

    • Forex

    • Stock

    • Crypto

    • Essay writing

    • Gaming boosting

    • Dating & adult services

    • Research Chemicals

    • Unapproved Pharmaceuticals

    • Synthetic Drugs

    • High-Risk Supplements

Why these categories are restricted

REVIEWS.io is built on authentic, verified reviews. Businesses in the categories above present a significant risk of fake, incentivised, or misleading reviews — which undermines the integrity of the platform for all users. We also restrict categories where there is a high likelihood of consumer harm or where the business model is deceptive by design.

My account activation was denied — what happens next

If your account activation is denied because your business falls into one of the categories above, the decision is final. REVIEWS.io is not able to make exceptions for restricted business types, regardless of whether similar platforms have accepted your account.

You will not be charged — accounts that are denied during activation are not billed.

My existing account was deactivated

If REVIEWS.io identifies an active account as operating within a restricted business category, the account will be deactivated and its public profile page removed from the platform. This applies regardless of how long the account has been active or whether a subscription is in progress.

Deactivation is non-reversible. If you believe your account was deactivated in error — for example, if your business was misclassified — follow the same appeal process described below: contact support via Live Chat with your company name, website URL, and a brief description of what your business does and how you use reviews.

My business doesn't fit any of these categories — but my account was still denied

Sometimes an account is placed under review because the business model isn't immediately clear from the information provided. If you believe your account was denied in error, contact support via live chat and include:

  • Your company name and website

  • A brief description of what your business does and how you collect customer reviews

  • Any relevant business registration or licensing information

The team will review the information and respond as quickly as possible. Providing clear detail about your business model gives your request the best chance of a successful outcome.

If you are unsure whether your business type is accepted before signing up, contact support at help@reviews.io with a description of your business and we can advise you in advance.
